The trout engraved is based on a actual trout in Japan called the Yamame trout.
The Tenkara Free Spirit fly tying bench is shown with and without the vise stem holder. The vise stem holder is great for keeping the small bench surface open for material layout. The benches in the photo are set up for a left handed tier. Note: the vise stem holders are through bolted to the bench making them very stable and user friendly!
Each fly tying bench has unique character from using different hardwoods. The feet are screwed on and the front pair are set back to allow the bench to be placed over the edge of the suface it is set on.
The Tenkara Free Spirit comes with a Japanese trout called the Yamame, engraved on the back. The tool swivel plate and post are easy to take off with the thumb screws for compact storage or travel.

The brass pin in the tool post is for hanging hackle pliers on.  The back tier holds the six fly display clips and has three holes for Sharpie pens and two larger holes for tools with a larger/longer handle. The large holes are for Stackable containers, glues and hair stackers. The four small holes are great for your whip finish tool and placing bundles of different materials like micro fibbets in. The Regal vise is for display only and the brass vise stem holder is an accessory.
The Tenkara Free Spirit is 13.5' wide by 10" deep. The bench comes with six fly clip holders, five long brass pins for double spool strorage and also comes with a tool swivel plate and post that are removeable for compact storage or traveling. The brass vise stem hold is an accesory that is highly recommended to keep the bench surface open for materials. The Regal vise is for display only and the brass vise stem holder is an accessory that can be added to the bench.
